Over the years, photoscapes.com has undergone significant changes as my career has evolved. It all began in 2005 when I started selling non-commercial images to the public.

However, in January 2023, as part of my planned retirement, I removed the shopping cart and image catalog from this website as I no longer offer prints for sale. Instead, I plan to transform this space into a dedicated information-sharing site.

With 40 years of experience as a commercial artist, photographer, and professional educator in commercial photography, I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge to share with you. I’ve authored numerous articles on photography and the ins and outs of running a successful studio business, which I am currently editing before publication.

My focus now revolves around working on several websites and graphic design projects. Additionally, I’m always engaged in a few photography art projects. My site photohaikus will showcase standalone photographs while I continue developing each project’s body of work.

A contact sheet of favorite images is displayed on the landing page. Images within a black frame were captured using film, answering the question, “Do you still use film for photography?” Yes—I embrace both film and digital formats. The images that make up the contact sheet will change over time.

If you share my passion for cameras, you’re in good company. My favorite digital models are in my shooting bags alongside classic large and medium-format film cameras. I strive to provide insights into all the gear I have used throughout my career and personal art endeavors.

In my studio is a Sinar Norma monorail for when I want to experience photography through vintage brass lenses. The only film format I never seem to shoot is 35mm, but I have my first SLR film camera, a Canon AE-1, and my second, a Nikon F3T, just waiting to be used again.

I’ve come full circle in many ways, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
